THE group which aims to promote Colchester’s Roman Wall is appealing for sponsors to help fund its new project.
Friends of the Colchester Roman Wall want to raise £13,000 to install interactive interpretation boards to showcase the wall as a tourist attraction.
At the launch of the group’s plans, chairman Henry Spyvee said: “The wall has a future, but only if we keep working hard.
“That means trying to get as much sponsorship as possible to help fund the boards.”
He added: “We didn’t build the wall, but it is part of what Colchester is.”
Each board will include a QR code, which enables smartphone users to find out more information by scanning it, and will cost about £1,000.
It is hoped all 13 boards will be up and running by 2014.
