AN APPRENTICE from Colchester has scooped two prizes at an Essex awards ceremony.

Josh Wild, 17, beat 100 other entrants to take home the IT Apprentice of the Year and Malcolm Bridges awards at the fifth annual ITEC Awards Evening.

Josh, from Angelfields, is currently doing a level three apprenticeship while employed as a trainee marketing assistant at Lapsafe Products, based in Wakes Colne.

He said: “I was quite shocked, especially when they announced the second award - I wasn’t even sure it was my name they had said.

“I was really happy and am quite proud of myself."

He collected his award during a ceremony on Thursday evening.

Denise Crouch, director at LapSafe, said: “I am extremely proud of Josh and am looking forward to seeing what he will achieve with his next apprenticeship.”
