A GANG of yobs have attacked a man in an unprovoked attack in Colchester.
Police are appealing for information following the assault on Westway.
A 22-year-old man from the town was walking near the Blockbuster store on the way home from the gym when four teenagers approached him and began talking to him.
Two of the gang then punched him in the face repeatedly.
PC Elaine Hewes, said: "This was a clear, unprovoked attack.
“He had been asked for the time by the group who then followed him before two of them punched him in the face.
“We’re hoping that someone can recognise the group or specifically the two who administered the blows from the descriptions provided.”
One of the gang is white, in his mid to late teens, slim, clean shaven and has a scar on his left cheek.
He was wearing a black woolly hat, black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.
His accomplice is of mixed heritage, in his late teens, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, average build and has short black hair.
He was wearing a grey sporting jumper which has blue vertical stripes on the arms.
The assault took place at about 8.30pm on Monday, April 16.
