FOUR lads are travelling 3,000 miles in four days to raise cash for charity - in a 21-year-old limousine.

Richard Woods and Luke Hyams from Brightlingsea, Stefan Sturdy from Alresford and Harrison Carter from Frating set off on the Scumrun rally on Thursday.

They will be one of 100 vehicles driving around Europe to mystery destinations they will only be told of on the morning they set out.

Each car taking part in the rally must cost less than £500, so the friends clubbed together to buy a 1991 Ford Dorchester limousine.

Richard, 23, said: “It will be a big adventure.

“We are all very excited about it. It has been a while coming and now it is here we are looking forward to getting on the road.”

Stefan, Luke and Richard, 23, and Harrison, 24, are all insured on the car and will drive half a day each.

The event raises money for SPARKS, a charity which funds research into conditions affecting mums-to-be and children.
