A HEALTH boss has applauded hospital improvements - but warned more are needed, in his end of year reveiw.

Dr Gordon Coutts, chief executive of the Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, made the presentation at a Members’ Council meeting on Thursday.

He welcomed vast improvements in staff and patient satisfaction, mortality rates, hospital reputation and finances.

But he highlighted cancer targets and the number of patients staying more than two weeks as key areas in need of attention.
