What happened to socialism?
Tim Young is the leader of the local Labour group and Tina Dopson is the deputy leader.
Both are portfolio holders for Colchester Borough Council and are councillors for the St Andrew’s ward.
Tim Young is the driving force behind the closure and sale of our much needed sheltered housing stock, housing that any one of us may need in the future if only it will be there, and the forced displacement of the occupants of those properties.
Selling property and throwing people out of their homes is the action of a capitalist, while preserving and caring for our housing stock and tenants would be the actions of a socialist.
I hope the people of St Andrew’s ward will send a message to their Labour representatives and make a protest vote in favour of a candidate rather than Tina Dopson who is standing for Labour – a party no longer the representative of the working family, but one that aspires to Conservatism.
