A BROKEN set of points at Liverpool Street station has led to mass train cancellations today as a number of platforms are out of operation.
Engineers from Network Rail are set to begin work on the points at 10.30am.The latest update states they hope to finish by 4pm, before the evening rush hour.
A spokesman said: "Trains are getting in and out. Fixing the points will take a few hours but hopefully will be complete before the evening peak time."
To ease congestion at the station Greater Anglia has cancelled a number of services, including most of the London-Norwich route express trains, and the 9.35am Colchester Town to London service.
Other trains face delays of up to two hours.
Tickets are being accepted on c2c, First Capital Connect and Transport for London services on reasonable routes.
