Here we go again, David Mills having another senseless pop at Sir Bob Russell (Letters, April 30).
Personally, I would think Sir Bob had fallen on his head if he did support this crackpot scheme to knock down shops so people can view the ruins of the priory.
I have lived in Colchester some 35 years and shortly after moving here I discovered the priory – suitably fenced off, but accessible to anyone wanting to study or photograph it, or just rest on the lawns.
There is no need to knock shops down, unless they are in bad repair.
