SOME of London’s finest classical singers will be performing in Great Horkesley this weekend in aid of the Pimlott Foundation.
The foundation was set up in memory of the late Steven Pimlott, an internationally-acclaimed theatre director, who worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
His wife, Daniela Bechly, herself an international opera soprano, is now the inspiration behind the organisation. She lives, sings and teaches in the Colchester area and also works abroad.
The foundation supports talented young performers, and brings professional music to the area, for performances such as Sunday’s at Old House, Great Horkesley. Opera al Fresco will feature London-based and local soloists, including Ms Bechly, Hakan Vramsmo, a Swedish baritone, now living in London, and soprano Amber Furssendonn Coates.
The programme will include pieces by Mozart, Purcell, Bizet, and Puccini, all performed outside in the beautiful gardens of Old House.
Tickets are £15, with children admitted free. Gates open at 5pm and the performance starts at 6.30pm.
For tickets, call 01206 271291 or e-mail daniela@pimlott foundation.org In the event of bad weather, the concert will be held in the barn at Old House.
