A PUPIL was garotted by a rope and left with neck injuries after yobs tied it across a path near a school.
Police are appealing for information after a rope was tied to a fence and railings by Alderman Blaxill School in Paxman Avenue, Colchester, at about 4pm on Wednesday.
Michael was riding home from school and did not see the rope which sent him flying from his bike.
PC Esther Butcher said: "Not only is this an act of complete stupidity, but could have caused Michael a lot worse injuries than he has been left with."
Anyone who saw the rope being tied or has any information call Colchester police on 101.
