IN TODAY'S GAZETTE: Thousands of runners were left disappointed after Colchester's Race for Life was cancelled due to the torrential downpours.
Organisers said they had no choice but to postpone the event after the route became waterlogged and unsafe.
Another event will be staged in September for the 3,000 runners.

* A ten-year-old boy was knocked off his bike after an electric cable was tied across a path.
Michael-Ryan Mansfield was cycling with a friend when he was flung from his bike in Paxman Avenue, Colchester.
