A CIRCUS which arrives in Colchester tomorrow is set to be boycotted by animal lovers.
The Captive Animals’ Protection Society (CAPS) has called on the public to avoid the Great British Circus, which is due to open in London Road, Stanway tomorrow evening.
The controversial circus, which includes camels, llamas, reindeer, dogs, donkeys and tigers in its performances, runs in Colchester until Sunday.
Liz Tyson, director of CAPS said: “We’re asking that people stay away from the shows, such as that in Colchester, that continue to use animals.
“In the meantime, although a ban is on its way, we remain concerned for all animals currently in circuses, whether domestic or wild.”
