A HEADTEACHER will take to the dance floor when she retires this week.
Linda Rowley has been headteacher at King’s Ford Infant School, Colchester, for 11-and-a-half years, and a teacher for 26 years.
As well as spending more time on her passion for latin and ballroom dancing, Mrs Rowley, 57, is also becoming an ambassador for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Mrs Rowley, who is involved with the charity as her grandson receives treatment there, said: “I hope to raise awareness and promote sponsorship, that sort of thing, on their behalf.
“Every child is very different and presents different challenges, but even the most challenging children have a really nice side to them.
“I will miss it greatly, and also the staff too. It’s a great community here.”
