A LUCKY barmaid has landed tickets to the men’s 100m final at the Olympics.
Shareen Rozier, of Highwoods , Colchester, was stunned when she found out she had won the two tickets, each worth £420, from the National Lottery.
Shareen, 25, had been planning to watch the race on TV after she had given up the idea of buying tickets because she could not afford them.
Now she will be swapping the armchair for the Olympic Stadium on Sunday, August 5, for the most in-demand night of track and field.
Shareen, who works at the Rose and Crown, in East Hill, Colchester, said: “It’s so jammy.
“I thought it wasn’t real at first. I only told a few people because I wasn’t sure.
“I’m taking my boyfriend and he told everybody. We are ridiculously excited.
“It’s unbelievable – I’m still in shock.”
Shareen won the tickets after she entered a competition by retweeting a message from the National Lottery on Twitter.
The tickets include three hours of track events, hospitality at the Olympic Stadium, a night in a plush London hotel and rail travel.
Shareen is looking forward to watching Usain Bolt and has tipped him to win the 100m ahead of Jamaican teammate Yohan Blake.
She said: “Mo Farah and Bolt are the two I really wanted to see.
“I was really looking forward to the Olympics anyway. Actually going is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Shareen will get the Olympic tickets when she arrives in London for the event.
