DELIGHTED Neil Haggan will fulfil his ambition of working at the Olympics after belatedly getting his security clearance.
He underwent training as a security guard six months ago, but only got the go-ahead on Wednesday.
Under-fire Security firm G4S has given no explanation why it took so long to get him accredited.
Neil, 38, from Stanway , starts his job as a security guard at Hadleigh Farm mountain biking course, Essex, at the end of the month.
He said: “I am pleased because I have got everything and I can now put it on my CV.
“G4S needs to buck its ideas up because this has taken six months from the start to now to do anything about it.
“Without all the screaming and shouting, I would still probably be waiting.”
G4S has failed to provide the 10,400 staff it agreed.
Soldiers from 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, and 7th Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery, based in Colchester, are among those called up at short notice to help at the Olympics.
