A MAJOR upgrade of a notoriously faulty Colchester town centre lift has been completed.
The Vineyard Street car park lift, which helps disabled shoppers and those with mobility problems reach Lion Yard shopping centre and the main town centre shopping areas, has a reputation for rarely working properly.
But following a £50,000 grant from Essex County Council, it has undergone a major overhaul and facelift and was officially unveiled on Friday.
