Stanway is bucking the recession with work starting on a £2.5 million retail park.
The Co-op, which owns the site in Peartree Road near its Fiveways store, hopes it can attract a big name brand.
Also in Tuesday's Gazette:
- A former health club manager described his relief after being cleared of assaulting three children. Robert Welham, 37, who was sacked after the allegation, is now suing his former bosses, claiming unfair dismissal.
- A supermarket caught selling counterfeit and potentially poisonous drink has had its licence revoked.
- Pensioners in Colchester will be the only group spared from council tax benefit cuts.
All this and much more in your Gazette - only 43p. Remember, there's always much more in the newspaper than online.
