MUSIC filled the air in Brightlingsea as hundreds of visitors enjoyed a free festival.
The second Brightlingsea Music Festival attracted visitors from across Essex.
The three-day extravaganza on Hurst Green had a different theme each day.
It kicked off with classical on the Friday evening, featuring String Fever and a performance of well-known classical songs.
Rock, blues, ska and indie music was showcased on Saturday, with a line-up including local up-and-comers Dingus Khan, Swiss rockers Dead Monkeys and Salt Dog, who headlined the evening.
The weekend was rounded off yesterday with a jazz and roots-inspired afternoon with Colchester Institute students’ band, the Houston Mayhead Quartet and the Sweeting Swing Band, featuring the Andrews Sisters.
Anne Beezer, one of the organisers, said: “This is our second year and we have really built on the success of last year.
“The green was completely packed all day on Saturday.
“String Fever on Friday night were amazing and entranced the crowd with their performance as well as their playing.
“Everyone was dancing when Salt Dog played and the crowd brought them back for three more songs. We attracted a lot of people from outside Brightlingsea this year.
“We hope to be back next year, but as we don’t get any funding we are dependent on the goodwill of people making donations.”
