A BARMAID who scooped tickets to the men’s 100m final has spoken of the amazing atmosphere within the Olympics stadium.
Shareen Rozier, from Highwoods, won a pair of tickets to the event from the National Lottery after entering a competition on Twitter.
Instead of pulling pints at the Rose and Crown in East Hill, Colchester, or watching the Games from her armchair at home, Shareen and her boyfriend saw Usain Bolt beat his own Olympic record to claim gold at the Olympic Park in Stratford.
Shareen, 25, said: “It was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was unbelievable, just really really good.
“When Usain Bolt did his walk around the stadium we were so close, you just could not beat it.”
As well as the tickets the pair were treated to VIP hospitality, champagne, and an overnight stay in London, and the couple decided to soak up the atmosphere in Hyde Park watching the big screen today.
