THE owner of a waterfront cafe is retiring after 48 years helping the family business.
Jo Willson is selling Waterside Fish and Chips, in Brightlingsea, to spend more time with her family.
The restaurant has been in her family since 1964, when it was bought by her parents Daphne and Freddie Sullivan, with Jo taking over in 1989.
Jo said: “It has been a very difficult decision. I will miss the staff, who have all been very loyal and hard-working, as well as the customers and it will be a sad day when I hand over the keys.”
Jo, of Great Bromley, plans to spend more time with her two baby grandchildren. She hopes new owners will be found to take over the cafe and bring in fresh ideas.
