I read that the Hythe floods task force has now been around for a whole year and all in all has come up with - just the one idea - that is to spend £100,000 on a pump.
In my view a pump would be a waste of money because where will the water be pumped to...back in the river maybe.
On rising tide, I would be interested to know how that would solve the problem and keep the road clear.
Because of years of bad road planning, building and poor river maintenance, I would suggest that our councils now find themselves between a rock and a hard place and now they have no idea how to get the problem sorted.
The pump idea has kept the public off their back for a while and any other solution would probably cost the taxpayers a small fortune, just like our two regenerated roundabouts and demolish even more.
We now have a second Strood which has flooded for years with no apparent attempt to solve that so follow the tides folks.
