YES what happens to our High Street in future is a never ending story and it will not change until our the Essex County Council finds the courage to take decisive action.
The concrete has now set on past Essex County Council planning and left our road system in an absolute deplorable mire that can only be changed by demolition, which will never happen and the continuous building of living accommodation both in and around the city will certainly not help.
As much as I hate charges and taxes, I feel that the only way around the problem is to introduce a congestion charge which would be the decisive action to take.
But, if the money raised from that was used to alleviate council taxes all of us would benefit in our pockets and in our lungs.
