TWO weeks ago, I drove to Colchester to see a play at the Mercury Theatre.
I was with my husband and brother-in-law.
I had a voucher for St Mary’s carpark but so many roads were closed that Google Maps took me to the theatre rather than the car park.
It took me a further 30 minutes to find the car park and was quite stressful.
Today I’ve received notice and a fine for driving in a bus lane. The exact same thing happened to me the last time I went to the theatre.
Never again will I drive to Colchester. So for a £35 fine for the council I estimate the theatre and local restaurant will lose around £200 a year.
The road signage in Colchester is appalling.
