COLCHESTER United manager Joe Dunne would like to sign Sanchez Watt on a permanent basis.
But the U’s boss has admitted there is likely to be a queue of other clubs interested in the young forward, should he leave Arsenal.
Watt’s three-month loan at Colchester has been disrupted, after a visit to a specialist revealed a torn hamstring.
It could mean that the 21-year-old has to return to the Emirates for treatment, ending his temporary spell at the U’s prematurely.
However, U’s boss Dunne has not ruled out the prospect of Watt pulling on a Colchester shirt once again.
Dunne said: “Sanchez has been magnificent for us and he enjoyed playing here.
“He would be a player where they might be something we can do in the future.
“But there could be a long list of clubs who would be interested in his services.”
