Joe Dunne was full of praise for teenager Tosin Olufemi after handing him his Colchester United debut.
Olufemi, 18, replaced match-winner Clinton Morrison in the second half of the U's 2-1 win at Bury.
It was the young winger's first taste of first-team action and boss Dunne was pleased with his efforts.
Dunne said: “Young Tosin came on and he thought it was great.
“He played with Freddie Ladapo up front, which is a testament to our academy.
“Tosin won’t forget his debut in a hurry and he had a very important job to do for us, with their full-back getting forward and he did it very well."
