COLCHESTER United boss Joe Dunne believes the club’s loyal supporters could be the difference between survival and relegation.
The U’s are hovering just above the League One drop zone but, crucially, three of their remaining five games are at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
The first of those is tomorrow, against Leyton Orient.
And Dunne believes the noise of positivity of the club’s home support could tip the scales in their favour.
“If we’re to stay in this division, we’ll need them,” said the Irishman.
“They could be the difference.
“Our fans have been very good this season.
“They’re always behind the team and the club.
“We’ve got young players and they thrive on good, positive atmospheres.
“All the lads appreciate that and so do I.
“We’re one whole unit and the supporters are an extension of our team.”
