Freddie Sears is hungry to return and help Colchester United seal their League One status.
The U’s leading goalscorer is ready to link up with the rest of the squad for their trip to Notts County, this weekend.
Sears, 23, has been sidelined since injuring his knee in Colchester’s 2-0 win at Stevenage, at the start of last month.
But Sears, who has netted eight times for Colchester this season, scored in their 1-1 friendly draw with Dagenham and Redbridge, on Tuesday.
U's boss Joe Dunne said: "Freddie's back in the squad for Saturday."
