Freddie Sears has set his sights on finishing the season as Colchester United’s top goalscorer.
But the returning striker has stressed helping the U’s preserve their League One status is his top priority.
Sears, who is Colchester’s leading scorer with eight goals, is back for tomorrow’s game at Notts County after an injury lay-off.
The former West Ham United youngster has not figured for the U’s since injuring his knee in their 2-0 win at Stevenage, on March 2.
However, Sears is now fit and ready to help them secure Joe Dunne’s side a place in the third tier for another season.
Sears said: “It’ll be nice to finish as top goalscorer but the main thing is to stay in League One."
