Colchester United want to sign off in style today.
The U’s are hoping to attract their biggest crowd of the season for their final game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
They are hoping to surpass their highest attendance of 4,727, the crowd for last month's 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth.
Colchester are holding a Family Day today, with various activities on offer at the stadium from 1.30pm onwards.
And after the match against Shrewsbury Town, the U’s players will thank the fans for their support throughout the season.
U’s assistant manager Mark Kinsella said: “The supporters have been outstanding.
“We’ll thank them after the game because they’ve been excellent.
“They’ve got behind us and I think that we’ve shown at times that we can play football.
“We’ve given them something to shout about at times and I don’t think there are too many games where we haven’t performed.
“There are two or three where we haven’t deserved something but there are a lot of games where we’ve come in and felt that we’ve deserved more.”
