Robbie Cowling’s actions can inspire Colchester United’s players ahead of their make-or-break showdown with Carlisle United.
That’s the view of U’s boss Joe Dunne, who believes his side should look no further than their chairman’s heroics in their quest to avoid relegation.
Cowling has embarked on a gruelling 320-mile charity bike ride up to Brunton Park, after departing from the U’s Florence Park training ground in Tiptree yesterday.
And once he has completed his punishing mission, the U’s chairman is hoping to celebrate by watching his club retain their League One status.
Colchester need a point against Carlisle this Saturday, in order to be sure of staying in the division.
Dunne said: “We can take great inspiration from our chairman, because he just takes things head on."
