PHIL Seton made a triumphant return to the track after rolling back the years at Snetterton.
The team principal of the Colchester-based MRO Supersport team Seton Tuning was a double winner after guesting for Hottrax, in the Motogrande 600 race.
After securing pole position in qualifying, Seton went on to win both of his races and also set a fastest lap.
And the Fingringhoe motorsport guru, whose last major triumph was winning the MRA Championship in 2006, was delighted with the way things went on his return to the track.
Seton said: “I was over the moon to do as well as I did.
“The nicest thing for me was that a lot of the lads I knew from the British Championship.
“They were having a bit of a joke at my expense before the race.
“But when the flag dropped and the lights went, they saw I’m a different person on the track.
“This was my first proper circuit race in six or seven years.
“I support lots of lads in the British Superbike Championship and try to pass on my experience and knowledge to them.
“It was the first time that I’d ever raced at the new Snetterton 300 circuit.
Seton is now keen for more race action, following his success at Snetterton.
He added: “I really enjoyed it and it was a lot of fun.
“It was very gratifying for me to see the lads realise that I just don’t talk the talk, I also walk the walk.
“It’s made me hungry for more racing - I know my capabilities and I know that I can race even faster.
“I was only just feeling like I had the feel of the motorcycle again.
“I’m very tempted to have another go.”
