FRINTON captain Nick Patel admitted it was a great feeling to beat rivals Wivenhoe – and leapfrog them in the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship premier division table.
Patel claimed impressive figures of four for five to help his side to a 39-run victory at Ashlyns Road and move up to third.
It was an important win for Frinton over Wivenhoe, just seven days after the two clubs had played out an exciting tie.
Patel said: “A win is a win, no matter what the game or who the opposition is.
“However, a game versus a rival team always gets the juices flowing.
“The game was another great game of cricket versus Wivenhoe for the second weekend running and after the tie last week, it was great to win.”
Michael Condy hit 50 for Wivenhoe, as his side chased Frinton’s total of 152.
But it was not enough for the visitors to secure victory, as Frinton dismissed their visitors for 113.
