FC Clacton boss Ray Turner wants to see his players find the next level of sharpness when they continue their pre-season preparations against Essex Senior League side Enfield 1893 today.
Turner admits that he has been frustrated that his team’s strong performances in their games so far haven’t been turned into winning results.
And with the Thurlow Nunn League premier division season just over two weeks away now, Turner knows it is time for the Seasiders to raise their game.
He said: “I can see we are competing, but we are coming off the pitch having lost.
“While it’s pre-season you can deal with it, but we now only have three friendlies before we play Kirkley on the opening day of the season and we have to be putting them away and getting the results that our performances are warranting.”
The game against Enfield 1893 kicks off at 3pm at the Rush Green Bowl.
