Colchester United manager Joe Dunne believes veteran striker Clinton Morrison deserves plenty of credit for his performances over recent matches.
Morrison, 34, has started the U's last four matches and was impressive in their 2-2 draw with Rotherham United, last weekend.
U's boss Dunne said: “Clinton’s very valuable to us and he’s put in a big shift.
“We gave him an extra day’s rest this week and I’m a great believer in man management.
“That’s key these days and it’s a case of managing his recovery time and his downtime.
“He’s not as sprightly as he used to be but he lasted 90 minutes against Rotherham.
“He’s a key player and he’s been able to get young players like Elliot Lee and Macca Bonne through games, which is very important.
“He deserves the credit that he’s getting at the moment."
