Alex Wynter says he would be happy to return to Colchester United if the opportunity arose.
The U’s are keen to bring the young defender back to the Weston Homes Community Stadium next season, after he impressed for them during a loan spell from Crystal Palace.
Wynter, who attended the U’s end of season dinner last Friday night, made six appearances for Colchester at the tail-end of this season, helping them to preserve their League One status.
U’s boss Joe Dunne has been talking to Palace about the possibility of bringing the defender back to Colchester – and Wynter is open to a return.
He said: “I loved my time at Colchester and if the opportunity arose to go back there, I would take it.
“The club are talking to my agent at the moment, I’m holding tight and waiting to see what happens.
“It was really good at Colchester and I enjoyed every moment of it."
