Colchester United are about to unveil their new captain - with Alex Gilbey a prime candidate to lead them into battle this season.
U’s boss Joe Dunne has already decided who will succeed Brian Wilson as his skipper, for the forthcoming League One campaign.
Dunne plans to reveal who will wear the armband for Colchester when they host their annual Open Day at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, on Sunday.
He said: “We’ve spoken as a staff and we know how we want to go with it.
“We hope to announce the captaincy, vice-captaincy and who’ll be our PFA representative this season on Sunday.”
