Dominic Vose revealed some extra shooting practice proved the catalyst for his two spectacular strikes for Colchester United at Dagenham and Redbridge.
Vose’s stunning second-half brace helped the U’s recover a two-goal deficit to win 4-3 in their latest pre-season friendly, at a humid Victoria Road.
The 20-year-old attacker scored twice from long range in the space of ten minutes against Daggers.
His first goal was a long-range free-kick from a wide position that nestled in the far corner, with his second a 35-yard rocket that flew into the net from a central position.
Vose said: “I’ve been practising my shooting on the training ground and I guess it’s no coincidence, as practice makes perfect at the end of the day.
“I’ll leave it up to other people to decide if I meant them.
“If they say I did, then I’ll take that!"
