Colchester United manager Joe Dunne said he had little to complain about after watching his side play out a 2-2 draw with Luton Town in their latest pre-season friendly.
After falling behind to Mark Cullen's strike, a Paul Connolly own goal and Jabo Ibehre's well-taken strike gave the U's the lead, before former Colchester player Luke Guttridge came off the bench to earn the Hatters a share of the spoils at Kenilworth Road.
Dunne fielded a strong side against Luton and was generally pleased with their display, with the new League One season less than a fortnight away.
Dunne said: “We’re scoring goals and we look a threat.
“We just need to tidy up one or two things and we’ve been working with the back four.
“It’s the first time that that back four have played together and over the next ten days or so, we’ll get more work into them.
“But I don’t think there’s much for me to complain about and there were some exceptional performances.
“I thought we were good and we played really well, especially in the first half.
“We scored two very good goals and we could have had a few more.
“We made a couple of individual mistakes that led to goals that we have to work on.
“But if we’re going to do it, we should do it in pre-season.
“Overall though, it’s been a really good last few days for us if you include the Dagenham game as well.”
