HALSTEAD TOWN brought the curtain down on their pre-season campaign with two eye-catching victories.
Reis Farley-Hearn and Ellis Carter were on target as a young Humbugs side won 2-1 at FC CLACTON on Thursday night.
Brad Smith scored the hosts’ consolation just before half-time.
Both sides were then back in action on Saturday and Halstead notched another impressive win, this time 3-0 at Eastbourne – semi-finalists in last season’s FA Vase.
Carter again, an own goal and Matt Knight gave them victory on the South Coast.
"It was a great day and everything is coming together nicely," said boss Mark Benterman.
Meanwhile, Halstead have signed former Hornchurch, Aveley, Witham, Great Wakering and Chelmsford City defender Dave Morgan, in addition to proven goal-scorer Dan Cann.
More new additions could follow this week.
Clacton, meanwhile, drew 0-0 at home to Haverhill Borough, on Saturday.
