Ali Carter has made an early exit from the China Open.
The Colchester-born potter was beaten 5-4 by Norway’s Kurt Maflin to go out at the first-round stage of the tournament, in Beijing.
Carter returned to competitive snooker last October and won the General Cup, after finishing his successful chemotherapy for lung cancer.
