Jamie Cureton bagged a brace as Colchester United dented Southampton's promotion hopes with a 2-1 win at St Mary's on Friday night.
The U's had not tasted victory in six Coca-Cola Championship matches prior to their trip to the south coast, which was broadcast live on Sky Television.
However, Cureton fired them ahead from Chris Iwelumo's cross in only the fourth minute.
And although Marek Saganowski equalised for the Saints midway through the first half, Cureton hit a stunning volley less than 60 seconds later to score what proved to be the winning goal.
U's manager Geraint Williams said: "Our pride was hurt with our last performance on Sky so we were determined that that didn't happen again.
"I though it was a magnificent performance."
