Colchester United came from behind to beat Bishop’s Stortford 3-2 and make it three friendly wins out of three in pre-season.
Second-half goals from Jack Curtis, Dan Holman and Macauley Bonne cancelled out Sheldon Sellears’ early opener for the Conference South side.
And although Kenzer Lee pulled a goal back for Stortford late on, the U’s claimed victory at Woodside Park.
Many of Colchester’s players got at least an hour of game time as they build their fitness up for the new season.
But Richard Brindley, Matthew Briggs, Sammie Szmodics and Chris Porter did not feature.
And George Elokobi and Sam Walker are not quite ready to return to action as they build up their fitness for the new season.
Olly Lee got another chance to impress as did fellow trialists Dutchman Sherwin Grot, formerly of Eredivisie club NEC and ex-Stoke City youngster, Tomi Adeloye.
