Macauley Bonne scored a hat-trick in Colchester United's 8-0 win over AFC Hornchurch in the Essex Senior Cup third round.
Bonne scored three times in the rout at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, with Drey Wright bagging a brace and Dion Sembie-Ferris, Jack Curtis and an own goal completing the big win.
Colchester fielded what was mainly an under-21 team supplemented by first-team players who were looking for some good match time, such as Joe Edwards, Frankie Kent and Dion Sembie-Ferris.
The game in reality was all over within the first 15 minutes, when the U’s had already built up a 3-0 lead.
