West Mersea sailor Saskia Clark continues her preparations for the Rio Olympics at the 470 World Championships today.
Clark, along with sailing partner Hannah Mills, are in action at the two-person Worlds being held in Argentina this week.
The world number one duo are expected to be among the leading contenders for the women’s world title.
And the Great Britain pair will see the event as a chance to check in with their international rivals and fine tune preparation towards Rio.
The 2012 Olympic silver medallists, who also won the world title in 2012, were in close contention at the 2015 edition last October.
But they had to settle for silver, behind Austrian duo Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar.
Clark and Mills have since turned the tables, beating the world champions to win the Sailing World Cup Final and the Copa Brasil, in Rio.
The duo will be joined in the women’s fleet by Amy Seabright and Anna Carpenter in San Isidro, which has been plagued by a water hyacinth outbreak across the racing area.
Luke Patience will be in action with Chris Grube, in the 470 men’s event.
The final medal races at the 470 World Championships are due to take place on Saturday.
