Drey Wright has signed a new one-year contract with Colchester United.
The skilful winger, whose was one of a number of U’s players due to be out of contract summer, has penned the fresh terms offered to him by the U’s.
Wright will be aiming to establish himself in Colchester’s starting line-up under newly-appointed first-team coach John McGreal, having failed to command a regular spot this season.
The 21-year-old has recovered from two serious knee injuries in the past and will be hoping to recapture the kind of form that saw him burst onto the scene as a teenager, in 2012.
Wright, who progressed through Colchester’s academy, has made more than 50 league and cup appearances for the club, scoring four times.
He was one of a number of out of contract players to be offered new deals at Colchester, following the announcement of their retained list last week.
