Colchester United have completed the signing of former Celtic striker Denny Johnstone for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old has joined the U's on a two-year deal from Championship club Birmingham City, after they fought off interest from Dundee United for the young forward's signature.
Johnstone came through Celtic's academy before signing for Championship side Birmingham City, in 2014.
The six foot two inches striker, who has represented Scotland up to under-19 level, has since had loan spells at Macclesfield, Cheltenham and Burton Albion, where he gained experience of playing in League Two.
Johnstone played his football at Greenock Morton last season and during his season-long loan from Birmingham, hit the net 17 times.
Colchester had been looking to bolster their attacking options, following the departure of the likes of George Moncur and Gavin Massey along with loanee, Elliot Lee.
Johnstone joins Luke Prosser and Ben Wyatt in joining the U's, this summer.
