Femi Akinwande has signed a new one-year deal with Colchester United.
The U's youngster was one of a number of players offered new contracts by the club at the end of last season and has now put pen to paper on new terms.
Akinwande joined Colchester last November, after impressing at Ryman League division north side Maldon and Tiptree.
The 20-year-old striker made two first-team appearances for the U's last season and will be hoping to compete with the likes of Denny Johnstone, Chris Porter, Kurtis Guthrie and Macauley Bonne for a forward place next season.
He follows in the footsteps of the likes of Tom Eastman and Jamie Harney in signing new contracts at Colchester and is the last remaining out of contract player to put pen to paper this summer.
Meanwhile, Colchester have announced that they will play Essex neighbours Southend United at Roots Hall in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 30.
