COLCHESTER Hockey Club captain Simon Pearson-Burton insists their top-of-the-table clash with Chelmsford II is 'just another game' this weekend.
The Garrison-based side return to East Men's League division three south east action after the festive break with a huge game, against their Essex rivals.
Second-placed Colchester lie three points off leaders Chelmsford in the table, having played a game more.
It promises to be a cracking encounter on Saturday but Pearson-Burton says they will be treating it as any other fixture, on Saturday.
Pearson-Burton said: "Chelmsford is just another game of many in the season.
"We are feeling quite buoyed up but know there is a lot of hard work yet to come."
Colchester head into the second half of the season in encouraging form, as they aim to bounce back from last season's relegation.
They have won nine of their opening 12 games in the division in the current campaign and will be looking to push on further with more positive results, in the coming weeks.
"This season we have focused upon rebuilding and developing the squad," added Pearson-Burton.
"This is going very well and we hope to continue the progress in the New Year.
"I’m very pleased with the manner in which we approach and play every game.
"We have a really close squad who play for was happy other.
"Hopefully the results will continue to go our way but more importantly we will keep building and attracting more players to the club."
