COGGESHALL TOWN survived a scare before keeping their title dream alive with a 4-1 victory at home to Gorleston.
The Thurlow Nunn League leaders were trailing at the break but turned the match on its head thanks to second-half strikes from substitute Josce Syrett, the prolific Nnamdi Nwachuku and two-goal hero Tom Monk.
Gorleston were reduced to ten men when it was 2-1.
Coggeshall remain a point above second-placed Felixstowe and Walton, who kept the heat on with a 3-0 victory at Ely City.
Coggeshall have now won 32 of their 40 matches.
Elsewhere, BRANTHAM ATHLETIC and Thetford Town met in a dress rehearsal for next month’s League Challenge Cup final and it was the Imps who prevailed 3-1.
The sides recently drew 2-2 and this was another tight contest, with the visitors drawing first blood before Ben Newson replied after a cross from Jack Newman.
Half-time substitute Sean Bartlett grabbed his side’s second, slotting home after rounding the goalkeeper.
Ed Nobbs then buried a late penalty to put the gloss on Brantham’s victory.
The Imps are now unbeaten in six, having won five of those matches, including their last three.
WIVENHOE TOWN suffered a 2-1 defeat at Haverhill Rovers.
The Suffolk side were two goals to the good by the time Myles Passley converted his first Dragons goal, turning home a cross from Jack Charnock.
STANWAY ROVERS had a disappointing afternoon following the postponement of their match at Godmanchester Rovers.
Kem Izzet’s men had been hoping to get back on track after a poor spell of form, losing their last three and five of the last six.
FC CLACTON did not have a game and return to action on Tuesday night, when they make the short hop to Wivenhoe.
Other midweek fixtures include Coggeshall against Long Melford, Brantham against Great Yarmouth Town and Ipswich Wanderers against Stanway.
In division one, LITTLE OAKLEY made the 210-mile round trip to Wisbech St Mary – only for the match to be called off shortly before kick-off.
The Acorns now face a midweek trip back to Cambridgeshire.
The first division programme started on Friday night, with already-promoted Woodbridge Town winning 5-2 at HALSTEAD TOWN.
The Woodpeckers opened the scoring after just four minutes and quickly raced into a three-goal lead.
They added another couple before Karl Andrade reduced the deficit with a late brace for the Humbugs.
There was a top-of-the-table contest as BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES, in fifth, travelled to fourth-placed Swaffham Town.
However, the free-scoring hosts had a surprisingly comfortable victory, winning 7-0.
HOLLAND FC were also clear winners, emerging 4-1 victors at home to Leiston Reserves.
