COLCHESTER United have announced that seven of their up-and-coming younger players have agreed new deals that will keep them with the club.
It has been a busy summer so far for the club and the deals highlight that U's senior management are pleased with the progress that their younger players have been making in the under-23 ranks.
Six of the seven have agreed year-long extensions to their U's contracts, with George Brown, Ryan Clampin, Eoin McKeown, Decarrey Sheriff, Sam Warde and Diaz Wright all putting pen to paper.
Wright has extended his stay after a memorable conclusion to last season when he finished a loan spell at Braintree Town by helping guide the Iron to promotion to the Vanarama National League.
The U's youngster scored the winning penalty in a shootout at the end of Braintree's play-off final at Hampton and Richmond Borough.
There is also an extension to Louis Dunne's Colchester United contract after he has continued to make good progress from a cruciate ligament injury.
Dunne has penned a new two year contract with the club.
